Azure Data Warehouse Architect

Job Description

• Knowledge of Azure SQL DW, ADF, SSIS, SQL Server and SQL Stored procedure, T-SQL
• Design, develop, test and implement logic to extract, transform & load data from transactional applications into the DW using T-SQL, SSIS etc
• Help team understand and query data to accomplish the migration purposes
• Partner with Database and Middleware Administrators to achieve the migration

What experience, skills, qualities or qualifications are we looking for ?

• Experience in data modelling, data profiling and ETL tools and software
• Experience building data warehouses as the support for BI presentation tools: SSRS, SQL. SAS and Tableau.
• Experience with designing physical database, data warehouse methodologies, Entity Relationship Modelling / UML and data modelling tools, like Power Designer, ER Win and Rational
• Ability to develop data dictionary, establish meta-data models and data modelling patterns
• Fluent in SQL ad-hoc queries and procedures
• Execute hands-on ETL and BI development delivery tasks, specifically; ETL job development, technical data model design, and universe development
• Ensure data accuracy by thoroughly testing business uses cases for new or changed data marts and ETL processes
• Operationally support and administer ETL components of development and production data warehouse reporting environments
• Utilize dimensional database and data warehouse design skills to create effective models for efficient and robust historical and real-time reporting
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of data warehouse and business intelligence toolsets
• Assist with general EDW database maintenance tasks activities as required
• Develop and maintain ETL, data model, and reporting standards
• Effectively communicate on development and operational support work status and priority setting
• Assist with setting the strategy for and implementation of data modelling work, such as enterprise logical models, conformed dimensions, and data security
• This role may have access to financial and other company confidential data, and as such those working in this role must understand and comply with the Data Use, Information Security, and any other applicable company policies.
